The First Kitchen Opens
Marcus Webb launches Starbird chicken in Foster City, CA — a compact kitchen with a massive vision. The first 50 guests on opening day left raving about the signature crispy starbird sandwich.
Menu Expansion & First Award
Our chicken tender baskets and house-made sauces are introduced, instantly becoming fan favorites. Starbird wins its first "Best New Restaurant" award from the Bay Area Food Guide.
Second Location & Online Ordering
Growing demand leads to a second location in San Mateo. We also launch our online ordering system — making it easier for starbirds fans to get their fix without leaving home.
Catering & Corporate Partnerships
Starbird Catering launches for events and corporate clients across the Bay Area. Within six months, we're catering over 30 corporate offices and private events monthly.
Sustainability Pledge & Local Sourcing
We formalize our commitment to sustainable sourcing, switching to 100% eco-friendly packaging and establishing direct contracts with five local California farms.
